Having briefly studied photography at the Royal College Of Art, a month’s intensive course to illustrate her MA, Judy started out photographing small theatre companies. When she took a job in the music business her love of live music came to the fore and in 1979 she founded her own PR company.
The company thrived (and still continues to do so). Busy years followed. Judy put aside her camera to concentrate on looking after the likes of Status Quo, Toyah, Dire Straits, INXS, Steve Miller, David Bowie, Castle Donington Monsters Of Rock.... It wasn’t until she was persuaded to shoot the christening of Sir Laurence Olivier’s grandson that her passion for photography reignited. Her first wedding shoot, Tamsin Olivier’s marriage, took place shortly afterwards in Westminster Abbey.
Since then Judy has rarely been seen without a camera. She has covered many live events, from rock gigs to award ceremonies, from weddings to red carpet arrivals. She has shot pictures for album covers, posters and brochures and her work has been seen on TV and in most National newspapers and music publications.
Whether her pictures are for editorial, commercial or domestic use, Judy applies the same level of commitment to every shoot. Her PR experience undoubtedly stands her in good stead and she always aims for strong, quality images that reflect the character and core of the subject.
